Calling ALL Youth!

Do you like to spend money? Yes??

Have we got a deal for you!

Our Youth Bake Sale was a HUGE success and now we get to play Santa! Your youth council decided to support the church’s giving tree and buy gifts for those kids. So here’s the plan -

Sunday, Dec. 11 ALL youth (mid and senior) will meet at the front entrance to Target (on Center Street) at 4:30 p.m. You will get a tag and $$ and then go buy a gift(s) for your child! Once we’ve shopped, we will grab dinner at one of the fast-food joints by the mall, so don’t forget to bring some money for your own dinner! Please RSVP!!

(Psst – Adults are welcome to tag along and help play Santa too :-) )

(Psst Psst – Don’t forget: no youth group 12/18, because our Christmas party is 12/22 at Roberta’s! Watch for your invitation in the mail!)

Thank You!

28 11 2011

Just wanted to give a special Thank You shout out to everyone who pitched in to help with the Black Friday Chili Feed! We were able to raise enough money to pay for another week of CHP funding – yay!

Thanks too for everyone who came out to support this great organization. It was a wonderful time of hot, hearty chili and warm, friendly conversations :-) Blessings on you all!

Overcome Hunger

6 10 2011

It can be hard to see all the images of starving children. It often seems hopeless when facing such a monumental task. Watch this video – and know that with your help – we CAN overcome hunger!

30 Hour Famine

1 10 2011

Here’s your 411 on the 30 Hour Famine:

Friday, Oct. 7 – 6 p.m. Check-in youth center (your fast will start on your own at noon on Friday)

Saturday, Oct. 8 – 5:30 p.m. Communion and Break the fast (6 p.m. depart for home)

In between? Games, videos, discussion, worship, a trip to local neighborhoods for a canned food drive, and the secret “Fam Cam”!

We’re doing the 30 Hour Famine, going without food so hungry kids can eat. This isn’t just another good cause—it’s about loving God and saving kids’ lives. Youth will set a fundraising goal, get sponsors, and collect donations—then cap it off by experiencing hunger and having a blast for 30 hours with friends.

Every $30 we raise can help feed and care for a child for a month. To come up with your personal fundraising goal, ask yourself: “How many kids do I want to help for a month?” Multiply that number by 30. Easy! (I will even loan you a calculator if you need one.)

Permission slips, info and fundraising envelopes are available at iLearn and iConnect this Sunday. Be sure to get yours – you don’t want to miss this!
